Dendy Awards For Australian Short Films

Sydney Film Festival’s short film competition has launched the career of directors, writers, producers, cinematographers and other film creatives in its 48-year-history.

Sydney Film Festival’s prestigious Australian Short Film Awards were established in 1970, and have been sponsored by Dendy Cinemas for over 25 years.

The 10 finalists compete for three illustrious prizes: the Dendy Live Action Short Award, the Yoram Gross Animation Award and the Rouben Mamoulian Award for Best Director. In addition, each finalist qualifies for the Event Cinemas Australian Short Screenplay Award.

All finalists screen together with guest filmmakers in attendance.
