Congratulations to Bong Joon-ho (Okja, SFF 2017), who became the first Korean director to win the Palme d’Or at Cannes this weekend for Parasite Director Bong comes to Sydney next to introduce screenings of Parasite at SFF (tickets are selling very quickly here), and give an extended Meet the Filmmaker Q&A with Festival Director Nashen Moodley at the Hub (more info here).

Pedro Almodóvar’s critically-acclaimed new work Pain and Glory saw frequent collaborator Antonio Banderas scoop the prize for Best Actor at Cannes, while the Croisette opened with Jim Jarmusch’s star-packed new indie zombie turn The Dead Don’t Die (which has almost sold out all session at SFF – get the last tickets here).
