Join Cannes Film Festival's Short Film Palme d'Or winner Charles Williams, in a special session where he will discuss his creative process and the journey his films take from the spark of an idea to becoming a film on the screen. He will discuss both his acclaimed short All These Creatures which won over 60 awards around the world, and his new feature film debut, Inside, also screening as part of the Travelling Film Festival in Alice Springs shortly after the masterclass.
Charles Williams is an acclaimed Australian film director, writer and producer; winner more than 60 international awards including Cannes Film Festival's Short Film Palme d'Or. Charles grew up in a remote country town in northern Victoria, Australia. He began making short films at an early age and was picking up major awards while still in his teens. Since then his films have gone on to screen at more than 200 of the world's most prestigious festivals including Cannes, TIFF, Clermont-Ferrand, Sydney, Telluride, MIFF, Hong Kong, Rotterdam, Busan, SXSW and have sold globally including to the Criterion Collection. He has also been selected as part of TIFF’s Filmmaker Lab, the Golden Globes HFPA Filmmaker Residency and is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences®.
