The historic State Theatre is Sydney Film Festival's largest venue and our home since 1974. The beautiful building hosts our prestigious Opening Night Gala and screenings throughout the Festival, as well as dozens of Australian Premiere screenings every year.

Sydney Film festival acknowledges Australia’s First Nations People as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land, and pay respect to the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, upon whose Country SFF is based.
