Death Of A Whistleblower
Investigative journalist Luyanda (Noxolo Dlamini, superb) goes after the stories others don’t want to touch. When a fellow journalist is murdered, Luyanda feels certain that it has to do with a big story her friend was working on – one exposing government corruption on a massive scale. As Luyanda gets closer to the truth, her investigations become increasingly perilous, and even those close to her are put at risk. Prominent director Ian Gabriel (Forgiveness, SFF 2005; Four Corners, SFF 2014) ratchets up the tension in this pulsating thriller that highlights the very real dangers that whistleblowers in South Africa face by coming forward.
