One Second Ahead, One Second Behind
Optimistic postal worker Hajime (Masaki Okada from Drive My Car, SFF 2021) – known to his failed dates as “disappointing handsome guy” – lives life a little differently. Through a supernatural quirk, he’s one second ahead of everyone around him! When life rushes past so quick that he loses an entire day, Hajime goes hunting for those mysterious lost hours. His quest leads him to shy photographer Reika, a woman who lives life one second behind everybody else. Adapted from Taiwanese hit My Missing Valentine, Japanese director Nobuhiro Yamashita weaves a high concept romance that marries the mundane with the magical, full of temporal twists and charmingly awkward yearning.
